Before you start
Which handouts can you share? Any student handout that's a Google Doc or Google Sheet. Teacher resources, slide decks, PDFs, and videos can't be shared.
Previewing a project? Add it to your projects first. See Adding and removing projects.
On a free trial? Sharing handouts isn't part of a free trial. See Your TEACH free trial.
Share a handout
A handout opens in the same pop-up wherever you find it: in a lesson, the project Overview, the Assessment Map, or the Resource Bank. These steps start from a lesson.
On any lesson page, select the handout under Student Materials in the Resources tab on the right. It opens in a pop-up.
Select the link icon in the upper-right corner to share it with students. TEACH copies the link for you.
Paste the link where your students will find it, such as your learning management system (LMS), an email, or a slide.
When students open the link, Google asks them to make a copy. Selecting Make a copy saves their own Google Doc to their Drive, ready to edit. Students need a Google account to do this.
Share a version you've edited
If you've made your own copy of a handout, you can share that copy instead. Each class has its own copy, so choose the class first. To make a copy, see Editing a Resource.
Select the class you're sharing with from the class menu under the project title.
Open the handout, following step 1 above.
In the upper-right corner, make sure Your copy is selected rather than the original.
Select the link icon, then paste the link where your students will find it.
Good to know
No printing needed. A shared handout is digital and interactive. Students can work in it on their own or with their project team.
Looking for every handout in a project? In the Resource Bank, filter by role to show only what's for students.
Prefer paper? Select the print icon in the same pop-up. See Print a Lesson Plan or Resource.
