Adding and removing projects

Here's how to add a project, access your active projects, and remove ones you don't plan to teach.

1. Select a project

Go to Explore Projects to see the full library, then narrow it down:

  • Search by keyword, like a topic or subject.

  • Filter by Grades, Subjects, Course, or Success Skills.

Use the All Projects and Your Projects tabs to switch between the whole library and the projects you've already added.

2. Preview a project

Preview lets you explore the full content of a project before you commit to teaching it. Note: all interactive tools and features (liked printing and editing) are disabled while previewing.

Watch the Project Walkthrough video on the right to understand the core components of the projects, including the major products students will produce.

Browse through the Unit Guide to understand how the project is structured, the project assessments, and which standards are covered. Dive into specific Lessons to see step-by-step directions, access slide decks, watch coaching videos from PBL experts, and view student handouts.

3. Get your own copy of a project

Once you find a project that meets your needs, click Teach this project to get your own copy of the project materials and unlock all its tools (edit resources, track progress, print, etc.).

All of your active projects can be accessed from your Homepage or via the left navigation.

4. Delete a project

Only delete a project you added but never taught. Deleting removes YOUR copy for good, and it takes everything with it: your progress, your quick notes, and every edit you've made to slide decks and documents. The original project stays in the Explore Projects library, so this only affects your personal copy.

  1. From the Homepage project card or the More button in the project toolbar, open the project's options menu and select Delete this project.

  2. Type or copy/paste the exact project title to confirm.

  3. Once the name matches, select Yes, delete it.

The type-to-confirm step ensure that you don't accidentally delete a project - because once it's deleted, your copy is gone forever. To teach this project again, you will have to re-add it to your projects.

Good to know

  • Deleting is permanent. Your progress, notes, and edits go with it, and there's no undo. That's why TEACH asks you to confirm before you delete.

  • The original project is always in the library. Deleting your copy doesn't remove it from Explore Projects. Need it again later? Just go back to the library and add a fresh copy.

  • Previewing is always safe. A project preview never adds anything to your personal projects list.
