All resources in TEACH can be viewed in the web app. To edit and customize resources for your classroom, you'll need to connect a Google Account (work or personal) to your PBLWorks account. Learn how to connect a Google account here. Your edits never affect the original, so you can switch back to it at any time.
Before you start
Add the project to Your Projects. Editing isn’t available while you’re previewing a project.
Connect a Google account to your PBLWorks account. Your copy is created in that account’s Google Drive. See Connecting a Google Account.
Have a full TEACH subscription. On a trial, you can view resources but not edit them.
Make your own copy of a resource
If you have a connected Google Account...
Open the resource modal
Click the resource to open it.
Look for the "edit" button in the upper right of the modal.
Click the edit button
Edit your copy in Google Docs
Make changes to your personal copy as needed, then save the doc.
These edits won’t affect the original shared deck.
Click to re-open your copy of the resource
Check which version you’re viewing
At the top right, you’ll see a dropdown labeled Your copy or Original.
Tip: The modal always defaults to Your copy if a personal version exist.
If you see “Connect a Google account to edit your copy”
Your PBLWorks account doesn’t have a Google account connected yet. Click Connect a Google account, sign in to Google, then click the edit icon again.
If you see “We couldn’t use that Google account”, that Google account is already linked to a different PBLWorks account. Connect a different Google account instead.
Good to know
Not every resource is editable. If you don’t see the edit icon, that resource is view-only. You can still print it.
The original never changes. Your edits only affect your copy. To start over, switch to Original.
Each class has its own copy. If you teach the project to more than one class, each class can have its own customized resources. See Using classes in TEACH projects.
Printing follows your view. TEACH prints whichever version, Your copy or Original, you’re looking at.
Deleting a project removes your copies from TEACH. Your edited resources are no longer linked to the project and can’t be restored there.
