Print a Lesson Plan or Resource

Print one lesson's plan, or save it as a PDF, from inside your project or from your Home page.

A printed lesson plan gives you the lesson's steps and teacher guidance on paper, which is handy for planning or for keeping beside you while you teach. You can print from inside a project or straight from your Home page.

Note: Printing is available in projects you've added to Your Projects, with a full TEACH subscription. If you're on a trial, you'll see a lock icon next to Print.

Print a lesson plan from inside your project

  1. Open your project.

  2. In the toolbar at the top right of the page, click Print. The Print a Lesson panel opens.

  3. Click Select a lesson and choose the lesson you want. You can type in the list to search for a lesson by name.

  4. Click Print Lesson (the button shows the lesson number, for example Print Lesson 4).

  5. A Printing in progress window appears while TEACH prepares the lesson. When it's ready, your browser's print dialog opens.

  6. Choose your printer, or choose Save as PDF to keep a digital copy.

Tip: Changed your mind? Click Cancel printing, then Click again to cancel to stop.

Print a lesson plan from your Home page

  1. On your Home page, find the project card.

  2. Click the three-dot menu (⋮) in the card's upper-right corner.

  3. Choose Print a lesson plan. The Print a Lesson panel opens.

  4. Select a lesson, then follow steps 4–6 above.

Print a single handout or resource

To print just one document, such as a student handout or rubric, print it from its resource window instead of printing the whole lesson.

  1. In a lesson, click the resource to open it.

  2. If you've made your own copy, use the selector at the top right to choose Your copy or Original. TEACH prints the version you're viewing.

  3. Click the print icon (tooltip: Print this resource) in the toolbar at the top right of the window.

  4. When your browser's print dialog opens, print or save as PDF.

Good to know

  • One lesson at a time. You can print one lesson plan per print. To print several lessons, repeat the steps for each one.

  • Save paper. Most lesson materials work well on screen. While teaching, try opening the lesson on a second laptop or tablet instead of printing.

  • Print dialog didn't open? Long lessons can take a few moments to prepare. If nothing happens after the Printing in progress window closes, refresh the page and try again.

  • Previews can't print. Printing is locked while you preview a project. Click Teach this project to add it first.
