When you finish teaching a lesson, mark it complete. TEACH uses this to show your progress on your Home page and in the project sidebar. You can also record how the lesson went and add a short note, so you remember what to adjust the next time you teach it.
Note: Marking lessons complete is available in projects you've added to Your Projects. It isn't available while you're previewing a project.
Mark a lesson complete
Open your project and select the lesson from the Lessons list in the sidebar.
Find the check circle next to the lesson title at the top of the page. Hover over it to see Mark lesson complete.
Click the check circle. The lesson is marked complete right away, and the circle fills in.
Tell us how it went (optional)
When you mark a lesson complete, a How did it go? box opens below the check circle.
Choose a rating: Great, OK or Not good. Your rating saves as soon as you click it.
Optionally, type a short note in Add a quick note (optional)…, for example what you'd change next time. Notes can be up to 25 words.
Click Save to keep your note.
Tip: The note box appears only after you choose a rating. To skip the reflection, just click anywhere outside the box. The lesson stays complete.
Edit your reflection or mark a lesson incomplete
After you rate a lesson, the check circle shows your rating's weather icon and the start of your note.
Click the filled check circle (the tooltip says Edit your reflection).
In the How did it go? box, you can:
Change your rating by clicking a different option.
Clear your rating by clicking the selected option again. This also removes your note.
Edit your note, then click Save.
Click Reset to mark the lesson incomplete. This also clears your rating and note.
Where your progress shows up
Project sidebar: completed lessons get a check mark in the Lessons list of your project.
Home page: your project card shows a progress bar, "X of Y lessons completed", and a milestone message such as Off to a good start, Past the halfway point or Unit complete.
Project hover card: hover over a project in the left navigation to see its progress and when you last completed a lesson.
If you teach the project to more than one class, each class keeps its own progress, ratings and notes. Switch classes from the class menu in the project header. Learn more in Using classes in TEACH projects.
Good to know
Your reflections are private. Ratings and notes are for your own planning.--
Lessons don't have to be done in order. Mark any lesson complete whenever you finish it.
Deleting a project deletes its progress. Your completed lessons, ratings and notes are removed with your copy and can't be recovered.
New classes start fresh. Lesson completion and notes are never copied to a new class, even if you copy its resources.
