If you haven’t already done so, please register for your workshop by selecting “Register for Free” when you visit my.pblworks.org. Enter the access code provided by your National Faculty facilitator.
If you are in the middle of a workshop, login to my.pblworks.org and locate the “My Learning” tab on the left of the screen. Click on the “Active” tab and then select the name of your workshop to access it.

Typically, this error occurs because a participant already has an edX account (the platform we use) from their time at another organization or school.
The easiest and quickest resolution is to create a new my.pblworks.org account with a different email address and then enter the access code again.
Zoom Questions

Try entering the Meeting ID Link again. This will take you back to the waiting room of your workshop. Your facilitator or TA will then let you back into the session and put you into the correct breakout session.

When you enter a Zoom call, your camera and microphone will be off. Click the icons in the bottom left of your zoom window to turn them on when you're ready.
If you are having issues hearing your instructor or being heard yourself, select the up-arrow next to the microphone icon and select Audio Settings. Here you can test your speaker and microphone to make sure they are functioning.
If this doesn’t help, check your computer’s audio settings:
For Macbook users, click Zoom.us on the left and select Preferences, click Sound, select Output, change the settings to Built-in, adjust the volume and click Input, and do the same.
For Windows users, click the Windows icon in the lower left corner, select the Settings icon (the image of the gear), select System, select Sound, choose your input and output, and then test.

This error may occur if you access Zoom through a browser rather than the installed application on your device. Download the compatible Zoom application for your device by visiting zoom.us/download. Once you have downloaded the application, open it, sign in to your account, and rejoin the meeting.

Open a new browser tab and visit join.nearpod.com. Then, use the Zoom chat to ask your TA to provide you with the Nearpod code. Once you enter the Nearpod code and click Join, you will automatically be placed with the rest of the workshop participants in the presentation slide deck.

Try refreshing and relaunching Nearpod. If there is still an issue, try a different browser (we recommend Chrome). Some browsers do not support Nearpod interactives. The Microsoft Edge browser doesn’t allow the Draw activity to work within Nearpod for Windows users. The only way around this is to use Chrome, Firefox, or Safari.

Try refreshing your browser and relaunching Nearpod. If that does not work, try a different browser or use the chat feature in Zoom to ask the TA to provide you with the direct link to the video.
Miscellaneous Issues

Once you click on a document, it will open in a new window.
For Google Docs, a new tab will open, and you will need to select “Use Template” (a pre-existing Google account is required)
For Word Docs and PDF files, a new tab will open, select the overflow menu (the three dots in the upper right corner) and then select “Download”.

If you are filling out a fillable PDF within the PDF previewer on your Online Companion, you must download the PDF first, then fill it out, and save it.
However, if you are in a Chrome Browser, you can directly fill out the PDF within the previewer, then select the print icon in the top right corner and select ‘save as a pdf’.

We recommend an internet speed of at least 3Mbps for both uploads and downloads. To test your internet speed, open a new browser window, visit speedtest.net, and click Go. Please contact your National Faculty member or TA if your internet speed is hampering your experience.

Sometimes this happens if you are signed into two or more Google accounts. Try signing out of all Google Drive accounts on both the Google Drive and Google Docs apps and then sign back in using the same G-Suite account you used when you registered for my.pblworks.org. If this doesn't work, try the same actions in a different browser. If this doesn't work, you may need to switch to a laptop or desktop computer.

The course system is designed to have you stay on each page long enough to read all the material and then click "Next" at the bottom of the page. After doing so, a circle with a checkmark next to it will appear to indicate you have completed the page. Sometimes folks don’t wait long enough before clicking Next. Try giving the page a little more time before clicking Next.

Login and on the right-hand side of your dashboard you will see ‘My Favorites’. To see a full list of anything you have favorited, click the green button that says “View All Favorites”. You might need to scroll down the page to see it. If you are logged in and don’t see My Favorites, click on the ‘MyPBLWorks’ logo in the upper-left corner to be taken back to your dashboard.
